Presentations at the Nordic Conference in Stockholm on 17 October, 2011
The Nordic conference “Transition from Education to Work” was arranged in cooperation with RI member organisations in the Nordic countries with speakers from Norway and Sweden.
The aim of the conference was to raise success factors for how persons with disabilities can find and keep work with or without subsidies. Presentations were reflecting two different themes:
• School and the transition – with preparation and various support before getting a job.
• In the workplace – support for the employers and the individuals when starting the job.
We all know that it is difficult for persons with disabilities to find a job in the regular labour market. For many years the question has been raised to find out what is the problem. Politicians and professionals often talk about the situation as a problem and look for special solutions. Sometimes there may be a need for special solutions but not in general.
At this conference we wanted to focus on the success factors for how persons with disabilities can find a job. The presentations gave glimpses of successful results from different research studies and projects.

SVERI, the Swedish Committee of Rehabilitation International invites you to the conference "Transition from Education to Work" 17 October2011 at Hotel Nordic Sea, Vasaplan 4, Stockholm, Sweden. It is situatedclose to the Arlanda Express Terminal in the City of Stockholm.
The conference is arranged by SVERI in cooperation with the other RImember organisations in the Nordic countries.

RI Norden är ett nätverk med de nationella RI-organisationerna i Norden som deltagare.
SYFTE
Syftet med RI Norden är att stärka det nationella och nordiska
arbetet inom rehabiliteringsområdet genom ett organiserat samarbete
mellan de nordiska RI-organisationerna.
STRUKTUR
OCH ARBETSFORM
RI Norden har som medlemmar RI-organisationerna i de nordiska länderna.
Den informella organisationen leds av en styrgrupp som består av
en representanter från varje nationell organisation. Ordförande
och sekreterare utses för ett år i taget och cirkulerar länderna
emellan. I övrigt deltar i sammanträdena de som utses av de
nationella organisationerna från gång till annan.
Styrgruppen träffas minst två gånger om året. Ett av dessa tillfällen bör ha karaktären av ett seminarium inom området habilitering/rehabilitering. Protokoll förs vid varje möte av sekreteraren. Mötesplats cirkulerar mellan deltagarländerna. Varje land täcker sina egna deltagarkostnader.
RI Norden kan initiera och genomföra projekt, i vilket fall externa medel söks för kostnadstäckning.
RI Norden strävar efter att samordna de nordiska organisationernas synpunkter på arbetet inom RI-Europe och RI-Global.
RI Norden strävar efter samarbete med aktuella nordiska institutioner/verksamheter, t.ex. Nordiska Rådet, Nordiska Ministerrådet, Nordiska Samarbetsorganet för handikappfrågor och Nordiska Handikappolitiska Rådet.
INNEHÅLL
RI Norden skall arbeta med fokus på nordisk habilitering och rehabilitering.
RI Norden skall, där så är befogat, söka påverka Nordiska Rådet och Nordiska Ministerrådet.
RI Norden skall söka samarbete med olika nordiska handikapp- och handikappolitiska organisationer.
RI Norden skall sträva efter att samordna nordiska synpunkter i sitt arbete gentemot europeiska och globala aktörer inom habiliterings- och rehabiliteringsområdet.
RI Norden skall sträva efter att etablera gemensamma, nordiska projekt inom habiliterings- och rehabiliteringsområdet. Sådana projekt kan genomföras av alla de nordiska länderna gemensamt eller mellan ett mindre antal av dem.
